What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security system that requires two distinct forms of identification to access an account. The most common example is username and password as the first factor, and your phone as the second factor, which is verified by texting you a code to enter.
How does 2FA secure my Meso account?
The two factors that you set up during onboarding are:
- Wallet ownership, which is verified by you signing a message
- Phone, which is verified by texting you a code to enter
Can I use something other than my phone as my second factor?
Not at the moment. However, support for second-factor alternatives is on the product roadmap.
Troubleshooting
My phone number is not supported.
Only phone numbers from countries where Meso is available are accepted. See the product availability article for supported countries and regions. Voice-over-IP (VOIP) numbers are not allowed.
I’m not receiving the two-factor codes.
Double-check the last four displayed of the phone number that will receive the code. If correct, wait until the "Resend code" link appears to try again. If you are still unsuccessful, we ask that you contact support by emailing support@meso.network or completing the form here.
